Workshop and body shop in Legnano

Legnano is a city of sixty thousand inhabitants, the real hub of upper Milan: the historic heart of the Olona textile district, a city palio that draws tens of thousands of people every June, the ASST Ovest Milanese hospital, and an industrial belt stretching from Castellanza toward southern Legnano. Our location is 13 km away, reachable in 18 minutes via A8 Milan-Lakes with the Castellanza-Legnano exit. It's further than the local town workshops, but for anyone needing complete body shop work or a facility that can handle multiple company vehicles in parallel, the drive can be worth it.

From Legnano to Mazzo di Rho

The standard route is A8 Milan-Lakes, Castellanza-Legnano exit, then SP233 toward Lainate-Rho. Thirteen kilometres, 18 minutes outside peak hours. On weekdays A8 can slow down between 7:30 and 9 AM (commuter exit toward Milan) and in the 6-7 PM return window. For those coming from southern Legnano, the Lainate exit is a valid alternative that skips the Castellanza-Lainate stretch. SS33 Sempione is a secondary, toll-free route but slower.

Legnano and its district

Sixty thousand inhabitants make Legnano one of the province’s main cities, not a satellite town. The textile district along the Olona, although smaller than its twentieth-century peak, still sustains a network of small and medium-sized firms in manufacturing, logistics and engineering. The ASST Ovest Milanese hospital and its healthcare ecosystem add another layer of mobility. For Tommy By the typical Legnano customer isn’t the private individual looking for the workshop nearest home (Legnano already has good ones), but the fleet manager of a small business looking for a partner to handle 8-15 company vehicles on a scheduled basis.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions for clients in Legnano

For Legnano customers, is the trip to Mazzo di Rho worthwhile?

For routine maintenance on a single vehicle, no — Legnano has good local workshops within 10 minutes of home. For fleets of 5-15 vehicles it makes sense, because we concentrate services and inspections in scheduled days and handle multiple vehicles in parallel. For full post-collision body work with water-based oven painting, it makes sense when the local workshop doesn't have the equipment in-house and would have to subcontract anyway.

Which motorway exit is fastest from Legnano?

From central Legnano and the hospital area, A8 with the Castellanza exit, then SP233 toward Rho. From southern Legnano (Cerro Maggiore, San Vittore Olona) you can also exit directly at Lainate. SS33 Sempione is a toll-free alternative but slower during peak hours.

Do you work on vans for the textile and logistics district?

Yes, on light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tons (same-day inspections): Ford Transit/Custom, Fiat Ducato, Mercedes Sprinter, Iveco Daily, Renault Master, Peugeot Boxer. For company fleets in the Castellanza-Legnano area we agree scheduled due dates to avoid unexpected downtime.
