Nissan workshop and body shop

Nissan has sold more than a million Qashqai units in Italy since the model first appeared: for many Italians, Nissan equals Qashqai. We work across the range — Juke, Qashqai (including e-Power), X-Trail (including e-Power), Micra and the EV pioneer Leaf. The e-Power technology is unusual: an electric motor drives the wheels while the combustion engine operates purely as a generator. It requires diagnostic logic that differs from conventional hybrids. Tommy By is an independent multi-brand workshop: under EU Regulation 461/2010 (Block Exemption), the Nissan manufacturer's warranty stays valid when you service here, with parts of equivalent quality and the booklet stamped.

The Nissan models we see most often

  • Micra — city car (off the European market since 2025 but still on the road)
  • Juke — B-SUV, including Hybrid (Renault E-Tech cooperation)
  • Qashqai — C-SUV, historic best-seller, now also available as e-Power
  • X-Trail — D-SUV seven-seater, including e-Power
  • Leaf — pioneering EV, 2010-2017 and 2018-present generations
  • Ariya — new-generation electric SUV on the CMF-EV platform shared with the Renault Mégane E-Tech

Technical specifics

  • HR DiG-T 1.0 / 1.3 — turbo petrol engines shared with Renault’s TCe family
  • e-Power — series hybrid with a single electric motor driving the wheels
  • Xtronic CVT — fitted to conventional Qashqai and X-Trail, with dedicated NS-3 fluid (see FAQ)
  • ProPilot 1 / 2 — Level 2 driver-assistance ADAS package
  • NissanConnect — infotainment with remote-diagnostic services when activated
  • Alliance cooperation — many components shared with Renault and Mitsubishi
FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Nissan

What is Nissan's e-Power technology and how do you handle it?

e-Power is a series hybrid: the wheels are driven exclusively by the electric motor, while the combustion engine (a 1.5 turbo petrol) runs at its optimal operating point as a current generator for the battery pack. Diagnostics require specific tooling that treats the combustion engine as a generation unit rather than a drive unit. We carry out scheduled services and diagnostics with compatible equipment and check the state of health of the HV battery.

Do the conventional Qashqai and X-Trail with Xtronic CVT need specific maintenance?

Yes. Japanese Xtronic CVTs need a tighter oil-change interval than a conventional automatic (typically every 60,000 km with the dedicated NS-3 fluid). Skipping that service is the most common cause of CVT failures around 150,000 km. We carry out the full procedure with the dedicated fluid and reset the adaptations afterwards.

Do you handle the HR DiG-T engines shared with Renault?

Yes. The 1.0 and 1.3 HR DiG-T engines are the result of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and, at block level, are identical to the Renault TCe units. They share the same attention points: belt intervals to be respected, iridium plugs, GPF management on Euro 6d. Parts are largely interchangeable.
