Škoda workshop and body shop

Škoda is the Volkswagen group brand that best blends robustness, interior space and accessible pricing. The mechanicals are VW (TSI and TDI engines, MQB and MEB electric platforms), but with a distinctive Škoda identity built around practical detail ("Simply Clever": the ice-scraper inside the fuel-cap, the umbrella stowed in the door, the shopping bag hook). We work on the Octavia (the brand's historic best-seller), the Fabia, the Kamiq, the Karoq, the Kodiaq and the electric Enyaq. Tommy By is an independent multi-brand workshop: under EU Regulation 461/2010 (Block Exemption), the Škoda manufacturer's warranty stays valid when you service here, with parts of equivalent quality and the booklet stamped.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Škoda

Do the 1.5 TSI evo engines have known oil-consumption or "kangaroo jump" issues?

Yes. On first-generation 1.5 TSI evo engines (2017-2019) some units showed high oil consumption and the cold-start "kangaroo jumps". VW Group released firmware updates and, in some cases, piston ring replacements. We run oil-consumption diagnostics during the scheduled service and flag any corrective work if the car is still under warranty.

Can I service the electric Škoda Enyaq on the MEB platform here?

Yes. The Enyaq is built on the VW Group's MEB platform, shared with the ID.4, ID.5 and Audi Q4 e-tron. We carry out standard maintenance (cabin filter, brakes, tyres, climate control, HV battery coolant) and run HV system diagnostics with VAS / ODIS-compatible tooling. For complex cell-level battery work we refer the car to an authorised centre.

Do you handle the DSG gearbox and DSG oil changes across the VW group?

Yes. The six-speed wet-clutch DSG (DQ250), the seven-speed dry-clutch DSG (DQ200) and the seven-speed wet-clutch DSG (DQ500) all need oil and filter renewal at specific intervals (60,000 km for the wet-clutch units). We carry out the full procedure with the dedicated VW fluid and reset the adaptations afterwards.
