Alfa Romeo workshop and body shop

Alfa Romeo is the sporty Italian brand of the Stellantis group, and for many Milan owners it is the family marque. We regularly work on the Giulietta (a historic model still on the road in volume), the Giulia, the Stelvio, the Tonale (including the PHEV Q4) and the new Junior (including the electric version). The defining technologies are the GME T4 2.0 turbo petrol engine of the Giulia and Stelvio, the 2.2 MultiJet diesel, the historic Twin Spark and JTD units, and the DNA / DNA Pro chassis-management systems. Tommy By is an independent multi-brand workshop: under EU Regulation 461/2010 (Block Exemption) your Alfa Romeo manufacturer's warranty stays valid when you service the car here, provided the work is carried out at the prescribed intervals with parts of equivalent quality and the service booklet is stamped.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Alfa Romeo

Do the 1.4 MultiAir engines on the Giulietta suffer from oil consumption issues?

On first-generation MultiAir units (Giulietta roughly 2010-2014) we have seen above-average oil consumption on some cars, together with a handful of cases of early timing chain wear. We run electronic diagnostics during the scheduled service and flag any follow-up work (chain or valve replacement). On the second-generation MultiAir the issue is marginal.

Do you manage the DNA / DNA Pro selector and the Q4 driveline on the Stelvio and Tonale?

Yes. The DNA system controls engine mapping, steering and suspension, and on Q4 versions it also manages torque distribution between the front and rear axles through an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch. We diagnose faults with Stellantis-compatible equipment and replace the Q4 transfer-case oil at the prescribed interval.

Does the Giulia Quadrifoglio need special maintenance for the Ferrari-derived engine?

The 2.9 V6 biturbo on the Quadrifoglio was co-engineered with Ferrari technicians at the Balocco technical centre and runs on tighter intervals: engine oil every 15,000 km rather than 30,000, turbocharger belt checks and close attention to oil temperature. We can carry out the standard scheduled services and refer more complex work to a specialist centre.
