Citroën workshop and body shop

In Italy, Citroën has earned its following on the back of ride comfort, the brand's signature soft suspension (today the Progressive Hydraulic Cushions) and distinctive styling. We regularly work on the C3, C3 Aircross, C4 (including the ë-C4), C5 Aircross and the Berlingo and Jumpy LCVs. Much of the mechanical content is shared with Peugeot, Opel and Fiat (Stellantis group, on the CMP and EMP2 platforms), which means interchangeable parts and short lead times. Tommy By is an independent multi-brand workshop: under EU Regulation 461/2010 (Block Exemption), the Citroën manufacturer's warranty stays valid when you service here, with parts of equivalent quality and the booklet stamped.

Frequently asked questions about Citroën

Do you have experience with the oil-bath timing belt of the PureTech 1.2?

Yes. On pre-2019 PureTech 1.2 engines, the oil-bath timing belt was prone to early degradation, releasing debris that clogs the oil pump. Stellantis revised the belt compound and, in some cases, issued a recall campaign. We carry out a preventive inspection during the scheduled service and, on at-risk cars, recommend the upgrade to the new-generation belt with a shorter interval.

Do the Progressive Hydraulic Cushions need special maintenance?

The PHC dampers use a dual hydraulic chamber and do not call for any maintenance beyond what a standard damper requires. Replacement with original Citroën parts (or certified equivalents) preserves the brand's hallmark "soft" ride. A worn PHC is diagnosed on the usual damper test rig.

Do you also service older Citroën models (C2, C3 Pluriel, Picasso)?

Yes. Older Citroëns still come through the workshop regularly. The challenge is parts availability for some specific components, but for the C3, C4 and Picasso of the last fifteen years, parts are still well distributed. For rarer cars (C6, the pre-spin-off DS3) we recommend confirming availability before scheduling the work.
