FIAT workshop and body shop

FIAT is the most common badge on Italian roads: the Panda, 500, Tipo, Doblò and Ducato are everywhere, and every Italian workshop sees dozens of them each month. We cover the full range with specific experience on the historic FIRE engines, the FCA-era MultiAir and MultiJet, the TwinAir 0.9 two-cylinder of the 500 family and — on the 500 La Prima and Red EV — the new Stellantis CMP base. Tommy By is an independent multi-brand workshop: EU Regulation 461/2010 (Block Exemption) lets you keep the FIAT manufacturer's warranty by servicing here, with parts of equivalent quality and the booklet stamped at the prescribed intervals.

FIAT technical areas we cover

  • Historic FIRE engines — 1.2 and 1.4 8V/16V, widely found on pre-2017 Panda and Punto
  • MultiAir — electro-hydraulic valve actuation on the 1.4 16V (500X, Tipo) and the 1.75 (Stelvio-derived)
  • MultiJet diesel — 1.3 (phased out) and 1.6/2.0 still in use
  • TwinAir 0.9 — FIAT-specific turbocharged twin (500, Panda, 500L)
  • T-Jet — older-generation 1.4 turbo petrol
  • Stop & Start — correct EFB / AGM battery management, requiring coding after replacement
  • UConnect 5”/7” — Stellantis infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

The FIAT jobs customers ask for most

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about FIAT

Does the TwinAir 0.9 two-cylinder in the 500 have any known issues?

The TwinAir is a turbocharged twin with MultiAir technology that has proven reliable, although real-world consumption tends to sit above the official figure and a handful of units have shown early turbocharger wear when services were skipped. The timing belt needs to be replaced at the prescribed interval (5 years or 100,000 km). We carry out the preventive inspection and the scheduled service with the dedicated Selenia oil.

Do you work on FIAT Doblò and Ducato light commercials?

Yes — on any version of the Doblò, and on Ducato vans up to the 3.5-tonne limit for MOT-equivalent inspection. Above 3.5 tonnes (M1 motorhomes, special bodies) the inspection falls outside our scope, but engine servicing and MOPAR parts are still in scope.

Can the UConnect system on the Panda and 500 be updated?

UConnect firmware updates are distributed by Stellantis and, on connected models, are pushed over the air. On older versions the update is done via USB or through a workshop with the FCA / Stellantis tooling. We can check the firmware status and apply the updates that are available.
