Toyotas are among the most common cars in our customer base, and they share a feature that makes them special to handle in the workshop: the full-hybrid Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) system with a NiMH HV battery and an electric coolant pump. At our Mazzo di Rho site we work across the full range — Yaris, Aygo, Corolla, C-HR, RAV4, Highlander and Prius — both hybrid and non-hybrid, keeping the service intervals set by Toyota (extended oil drain intervals of 15,000-30,000 km depending on the model) and running HV battery diagnostics with Techstream-compatible equipment. Tommy By is an independent multi-brand workshop: under EU Regulation 461/2010 (Block Exemption), the Toyota manufacturer's warranty (and the HV-Care extension) stays valid when you service here, with parts of equivalent quality and the booklet stamped.

Frequently asked questions about Toyota

Do you also work on the HSD hybrid system, including HV battery diagnostics?

Yes. We run HV checks with Techstream-compatible diagnostic equipment: NiMH battery cell health, inverter, MG1 / MG2 electric motors and the electric coolant pump in the HV cooling circuit. A Toyota HSD battery pack typically lasts well beyond 200,000 km, but specific diagnostics let us identify any individual degraded cells. For a full replacement we point to genuine or certified refurbished parts.

Can I service my Toyota Hybrid without losing the HV-Care hybrid warranty?

Yes. The Toyota HV-Care extension is renewed each time the prescribed battery health check is performed — something we run as a matter of routine during the scheduled service. EU Regulation 461/2010 (Block Exemption) guarantees that the base 3-year warranty and the HV extension stay valid as long as the procedure is documented correctly with parts of equivalent quality.

Do Toyota service intervals really stretch to 30,000 km?

Yes. Toyota's extended oil-drain intervals allow 15,000 km on many petrol engines and up to 30,000 km on certain powertrains and usage profiles. The Hybrids use a timing chain (no belt) and an electric coolant pump, so there is no belt replacement deadline. We follow the manual's intervals carefully so as not to compromise the manufacturer's warranty.
